What you still need to read, how the revision system works and exactly what your subscription includes.
Use the app beside the prescribed material
Does Police Law Prep replace the prescribed exam manuals?
No. For the NIE, the exam is marked against the current edition of Blackstone's Police Investigators' Manual.
For Sergeants and Inspectors, the exams are marked against the current editions of Blackstone's Police Manuals volumes 1–3: Crime, Evidence and Procedure, and General Police Duties.
You need the correct current material for your exam. Police Law Prep helps you retrieve and apply what you study. It does not replace the manuals.
Where does the app's legal content come from?
The cards, overviews and questions are independently written from primary public sources. These include legislation.gov.uk, the PACE Codes of Practice, CPS guidance and Sentencing Council guidance.
Case-law summaries describe published judgments from Find Case Law and BAILII. The content is not copied from Blackstone's manuals or the College of Policing's Authorised Professional Practice.
Can I see the sources and licences?
Yes. The content sources and licences record explains each source category, the public records used and the Open Government Licence attribution.
It is a source and licensing record, not a footnote list under every individual card or question.
Is Police Law Prep official or endorsed?
No. A Large Company Ltd publishes Police Law Prep independently. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the College of Policing, any police force or any publisher.
One account covers all three exams
Which exams does one subscription include?
Your account includes separate revision workspaces for the National Investigators' Examination, NPPF Sergeants and NPPF Inspectors.
Each workspace keeps its own cards, questions, mocks, review schedule and progress record.
How much does Police Law Prep cost?
Full access costs £15 a month, including VAT. It renews monthly, with no minimum term. One subscription covers all three exam workspaces.
Can I try it before I pay?
Yes. Start a 7-day free trial for full access to NIE, Sergeants and Inspectors. It needs an account but no payment card, and it ends automatically.
The free NIE workspace also includes four complete NIE topics. You do not need an account or payment card for it.
Can I use my account on different devices?
Yes. Sign in on your phone, tablet or computer to continue your synced progress. Your three exam records remain separate.
Existing customers with a legacy NIE access code can still use the code option on the login page.
What are the SIPP beta workspaces?
Your account also includes two private SIPP legal-knowledge beta workspaces, one for Sergeants and one for Inspectors. They are study-only and their coverage is incomplete: the material is mapped from the NPPF workspaces you already have, and each workspace shows its partial coverage, known gaps and exclusions before you start.
They have no readiness estimate and no standard timed mock. No claim is made about an official future format, pass mark, timing, weighting or syllabus. They are included only with this account and are not sold separately.
Practise recall, application and exam timing
What is inside each workspace?
Each of the three complete workspaces — NIE, NPPF Sergeants and NPPF Inspectors — includes study cards, scenario-based practice questions, focused review, quick mocks, full timed mocks and a readiness estimate. Every question explains the correct answer and each wrong option, and the three workspaces contain 286 written scenarios that ask for the outcome and legal reason with no answer options.
How do the mocks work?
Quick 20 mocks fit shorter study periods. The NIE full mock uses 80 questions over two hours. The Sergeants and Inspectors full mocks use 150 questions over three hours.
Each mock draws from that exam's own bank and weighting.
What does the readiness estimate mean?
It compares your answers with the pass threshold for your selected exam. It is study feedback, not an official result or a guarantee that you will pass.
Will review work become an endless backlog?
Each review session stops at 15 items. You still see the complete waiting count, and later sessions rotate through deferred work.
You can stop without a minimum term
How do I cancel?
Use Manage subscription in the app or email alexander@alargecompany.com. Your access continues until the end of the paid month.
What is the refund policy?
