Terms of use

These terms apply when you buy or use Police Law Prep. The service is provided by A Large Company Ltd, company number 17290014, at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. Contact alexander@alargecompany.com.

The service

Police Law Prep provides independent study cards, practice questions, mock exams and readiness information for the exams shown in the workspace. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the College of Policing.

The material supports revision. It is not legal advice and does not guarantee an exam result. You must check the current syllabus, candidate rules and prescribed manual.

Your account and access

Your account or access code is for your personal use. You must keep your sign-in details secure and must not sell or share access.

You must give accurate information at checkout and during account creation. You must tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access.

The free trial that you start yourself lasts 7 days. It needs an account, takes no payment, ends automatically and is limited to one per person. A trial link that we send you can have a different length, shown on the link page.

Price, renewal and cancellation

The subscription price is shown before you buy. It includes VAT and covers all three exam workspaces. Stripe charges a website subscription each month until you cancel. Apple charges an iOS subscription each month until you cancel.

You can cancel from the Progress screen or by email. Cancellation stops future charges. Access continues until the end of the paid period. These routes apply to a website subscription. If you subscribed in the iOS app, cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings. We cannot cancel an Apple subscription for you.

The refund policy gives a full refund of your first payment when you ask within 14 days. Your statutory rights remain unchanged.

If you bought NIE Revision as a one-off payment before monthly pricing, that purchase remains a one-off and has no subscription renewal.

If you subscribe through the iOS app, Apple takes the payment, not us. The subscription costs £14.99 a month, including VAT, and renews automatically each month. Apple charges your Apple Account within 24 hours before the end of the current period, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before that period ends. Cancel any time in your Apple Account subscription settings; we cannot cancel an Apple subscription for you. An Apple subscription gives the same access as a website subscription, covering all three exam workspaces.

For a purchase made in the iOS app, your contract of sale is with Apple. In the United Kingdom that is Apple Distribution International Ltd; in other countries it is the Apple company named on your receipt. Our terms still govern your use of the study material. Ask Apple for any refund, at reportaproblem.apple.com; we cannot refund an Apple payment, and the 14-day first-payment refund promise in our refund policy applies only to a payment made to us through Stripe. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.

Apps bought through the App Store

These terms are between you and A Large Company Ltd, not Apple. We grant you a non-transferable licence to use the app on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as the App Store Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions permit. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content. You must also keep to the terms of any third-party service the app uses. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent the law permits, Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for any claim that the app or your use of it infringes another person's rights or fails to meet a legal requirement. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a UK, EU or US embargo and are not on a prohibited-parties list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Immediate digital access

When you tick the immediate-access box and continue to payment, you request immediate access to the digital content. You acknowledge that immediate supply ends the statutory cancellation right for that supplied digital content. The separate refund policy still applies.

Referral programmes

A referral offer applies only when the app displays active offer terms and a valid referral QR code. The current pilot is limited to 25 paid referrals. A draft programme creates no reward. Pausing or ending a programme stops new QR codes and new referral checkouts. A checkout that we already accepted can still create its stated reward when payment completes.

The referred person must be a new customer. They must use the valid link, create their own account and pay for the named qualifying plan. The qualifying payment must be made through our website checkout. A subscription bought in the iOS app through Apple does not create a referral reward.

The referrer-only offer gives the referrer one £5 Amazon gift card after the new customer's first successful monthly payment and a 14-day hold. The new customer does not receive a reward.

The two-sided offer gives the referrer and the new customer one £5 Amazon gift card each. Both rewards qualify after the new customer's second successful monthly payment. No additional hold applies. The app states which offer is active. We reserve a pilot place when we accept the referral at checkout.

We can reject self-referrals, repeat referrals across different offers, duplicate accounts, refunded purchases and suspected abuse. If a referrer asks us to delete their account before the referred payment completes, the referrer forfeits their reward.

A full refund voids any reward that we did not fulfil. If we already fulfilled a reward, we review it manually and can contact the account holder. Rewards promised under an earlier offer keep their recorded terms.

Availability and changes

We will use reasonable care to keep the service available and the material current. Short interruptions can occur for maintenance or faults.

We can change the service to correct the law, improve security or improve study features. A material adverse change will be explained by email.

Ending access

We can suspend access for fraud, payment reversal, unlawful use or serious account sharing. We will explain the reason when the law permits. Deleting your Police Law Prep account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it separately in your Apple Account settings, or Apple will keep charging it.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law does not permit us to exclude. This includes fraud and liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable when the contract began.

Your data

The privacy notice explains how we use account, purchase and study data. You can request account deletion by email.

Law

English law applies. If you are a consumer, you can use the courts where you live in the United Kingdom.
