Accessibility statement

What this statement covers

This statement covers the Police Law Prep website at policelawprep.co.uk and the web app that signed-in learners use at policelawprep.co.uk/app/. It does not cover the iOS app. A browser set up to behave like the app was checked, as described below, but VoiceOver has not been used on the app itself. It also does not cover pages run by other companies, such as Stripe's payment page and Google's sign-in screens.

The standard and where testing stands

The standard aimed at is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. The status is partially tested. Automated checks have been run on the pages and screens listed below, and no test by a person has been recorded, so this statement does not say that Police Law Prep conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA.

What was tested

On 21 October 2026 the automated checker axe-core 4.13.0 was run with its WCAG 2.0 A and AA, 2.1 A and AA and 2.2 AA rules. It reported no violations on any of the following. The first two groups ran at 390 and 1280 pixels wide, and the third at 390 pixels:

  • 22 pages that anyone can open: the home page, buy page, FAQ, free workspace page, Sergeants and Inspectors exam pages, Police Inspire comparison, terms, privacy notice, refund policy, content sources, contact page, this statement, eight exam guides and the log-in page.
  • 13 screens of the signed-in app, in light mode and dark mode: log-in, Account, Today, the workspace home, Course, Progress, Settings, an area, a topic, a card before and after it is turned over, and a question before and after it is answered. These ran in the NIE workspace with test data.
  • In a browser set up to behave like the iOS app, at 390 pixels: seven screens in each of the NIE, Sergeants, Inspectors and two SIPP beta workspaces (Today, Learn, Progress, Settings, Practice, an area and a topic), the four account views and the privacy notice as shown in the app.

The public pages were checked from a local copy of the site, not from the live site.

What was not tested

  • No screen reader test is on record, for example with VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS or TalkBack.
  • No keyboard-only test by a person is on record. Zoom to 400 percent and text-spacing changes were not tested.
  • The iOS app itself.
  • The Sergeants, Inspectors and two SIPP beta workspaces were checked only in the iOS-style browser run, and only on the screens listed above.
  • The page shown after buying, the trial claim page and the iOS support page.
  • Pages run by other companies.

Automated tools find only some kinds of fault. A clean automated result does not show that the site works for every person.

Known limitations

  • An exam-conditions mock paper is timed and ends when the time runs out. The time cannot be extended once the paper has started. With Exam conditions switched off, the paper does not end when the time runs out.
  • In a practice question, the option you picked and the right option are marked with colour and a coloured letter. The verdict and the explanation are also given as text and announced to screen readers, but the options themselves carry no separate text label.
  • Some exam guides link to PDF files published by the College of Policing. Those files have not been tested.
  • The wording of the cards, questions and explanations, including statute and case citations, has not been checked with assistive technology.
  • axe-core marks some results as needing a manual check because it cannot decide them, all of them colour-contrast checks where it cannot measure the text or its background. A person has not reviewed those.
